YOU CAN NEVER PRAY TOO BIG FOR YOUR CHILD

Learn How The Size of Your Prayers Can Change Your Child’s Life!

All parents want what’s best for their children. And the most important and reliable key to achieving that is how you pray for them. Now prayer expert Will Davis Jr. shows parents how to develop a powerful prayer strategy for their kids in Pray Big for Your Child: The Power of Praying God’s Promises for Your Child’s Life

Davis shows parents how to develop a prayer life on behalf of their children that carries deep, transformative power. With corresponding Scripture, he guides parents through the breadth—and depth—of prayers they can be making for their children’s futures. For instance, Davis encourages parents to pray for their kids’ characters, futures, spiritual growth and interactions with others. He also covers prayers specific to sons and to daughters, and guides parents about developing unique prayers for their own children.

Pray Big for Your Child includes a powerful 31-day prayer guide and 12 around-the-clock reminders to help parents pray for their children throughout the day. In this new book, Davis teaches parents how to confidently use the most effective parenting resource available—prayer.

“Prayer is the most effective tool a parent has,” Davis, the father of three children, says. “As praying parents, we don’t have to sit quietly by and watch while our sons and daughters are led astray by the allure of culture. When teaching, discipline and modeling fail, prayer succeeds. Prayer goes where a parent can’t. It softens hard hearts, enlightens darkened minds, and guides lost souls. Prayer is a parent’s way of taking matters into God’s hands.”

Will Davis Jr teaches parents how to pray big for their children—how to go beyond the vague, safe prayers we’re accustomed to. He identifies the key areas of a child’s life that parents can be praying about, along with Scripturally-based sample prayers. From their days in the classroom to the spouse they take on their wedding day to the way they worship the Lord for the rest of their days, Davis leads parents through prayers that will impact their child both now and in the future. They range from aspects of daily life to your child’s mission in this world to their spiritual development as men and women.

Some of those prayers that he outlines in Pray Big for Your Child include:

  • Pray that your child will awaken to the reality of God
  • Pray that your daughter will know she is holy ground

  • Pray that your child will know and use his spiritual gifts
  • Pray that your child will love learning and obedience
  • Pray for your child’s friends, teachers, coaches, mentors and future spouse
  • Pray that your child will love serving others

Finally, Davis tackles some of the harder issues that parents struggle with, revealing how even then, prayer can pave the way:

  • How to pray for a change in your family’s spiritual health. Whether a child has fallen away from the faith or for parents who are new Christians, Davis offers insights about how to pray and seek spiritual renewal in your family
  • How to learn when and how to let go of your child. It’s a biblical mandate that parents do so, and Davis offers a guide to prepare and walk a parent through this critical process

It would be difficult to find a group of people in the Bible that God was more passionate about than children. Both testaments of the Bible speak to God’s love for, concern for, and prioritization of kids. For a praying parent, the Bible is a treasure chest of promises that God is ready and willing to fulfill on behalf of a child. Even if you’re new to the idea of praying for your child, it’s never too late to learn. This book will show you how.

Prayer is the most effective tool a parent has. When teaching, discipline, and modeling fail, prayer succeeds. Prayer goes where a parent can’t. It softens hard hearts, enlightens darkened minds, and guides lost souls. Prayer works. As parents, we don’t have to settle for having the kind of children that our society seems so determined to produce. As praying parents, we don’t have to sit quietly by and watch while our sons and daughters are led astray by the allure of culture. Prayer is a parent’s way of taking matters into God’s hands. So pray. Pray big, bold, biblical prayers for your child. God is ready to answer, and he doesn’t want you to settle for less than his best or to compromise when you pray for your child. Pray big!

From Faithreader.com (New York)–Will Davis Jr, author of PRAY BIG and PRAY BIG FOR YOUR MARRIAGE, has now composed a prayer instructional guide for parents wanting to step up their prayer lives in terms of both quality and effectiveness. His text is chock-full of interesting anecdotes from his own life and family whereby readers can “see” how real life and real prayer collide in beautiful ways.

Davis opens his work with a stirring true story of a young girl whose panic over school attendance was destroying her and her family. Despite the fact that this Christian family “did all the right things,” their child continued to be plagued by irrational fears and was incapacitated. They tried everything they could think of as parents — changing schools, medication, the works — but still their daughter suffered mightily. It was only after watching her battle to walk through the doors of her school on one particular morning that her mother heard God impress a life-altering message upon this woman’s heart. Begging God to help the girl “make it” through the day, she sensed Him asking her, “Is this all you want for your daughter?” At this pivotal moment, the mother learned to pray in a completely new (and biblical) way. Immediately she began asking the Lord to bless, favor and strengthen the child — and God answered.

Davis next lays the foundation of pinpoint praying, and moms and dads will recognize that all too often their prayers are neither effective nor emboldened and don’t even please the Lord, for He wants them to come boldly before Him and they expect Him to do great things. Sadly, parents offer broad prayers that lack real courage and passion. Or their cries are too vague, meaning they’re fuzzy and have no real meaning; they don’t ask anything tangible of God. Finally, another example of a weak prayer is one that is far too safe. These milquetoast entreaties simply require no faith and are risk-free because they don’t require God to act.

According to Davis, the remedy is for parents to pray biblically, so they are praying God’s Word back to Him. They also must learn to pray specifically, which means that pinpoint prayers know what they want to accomplish. They are short, direct and to the point. The types of prayer that please the Father are bold, they “walk right up to God’s throne and plead for his best, for his kingdom, and for his favor in our lives and the lives of our children.”

Once parents understand how God desires for them to pray, Davis supplies generous resources on how to pray throughout the day for your child — how to pray for their spiritual maturity; how to pray for boys to become Godly men; how to pray for girls to become Godly women; how to pray for their children’s mission in this world; how to intercede for your child’s role models; recognizing the most critical moment in parenting; and praying for children’s spiritual inheritance. As if this wasn’t enough, Davis closes his excellent text with an appendix full of a month’s supply of pinpoint prayers.

Davis’s passionate burden for parents to truly understand how essential it is to develop a regular, consistent and systematic prayer life for their children reads through on every page. Readers will find themselves not merely observant, casual bystanders, but they will soon catch Davis’s enthusiastic vision and want to learn more about what God has to say on this divine communication/intercession program.

From JM Manning (Austin)–I have always prayed for my children but this book
makes me see that my prayers can be more focused.
It reminds me of a magnifying glass used to intensify the
sun and start a fire on dry twigs.

With the points in this book, I feel like my prayers will have that effect.

Every parent should read this!

From Debbie on Amazon.com–This is an excellent book for parents to read concerning the future of their children. Praying big for them is a gift you can give them as they grow up and leave home and go out and make a difference in the world today.
